The Medivac Dropship is a combination of the Medic and Dropship from the original Starcraft. Like the Medic in Starcraft it can heal friendly Biological units and it does this automatically. Like the Dropship in Starcraft it can take units on board and move them over impassible terrain, up cliffs and over the map in a shorter period of time.
The Medivac Dropship can be built from the Starport as soon as it's been constructed.
