This summer over one billion people will be attracted to the
Olympic Games in China and cybersport falls abreast of the event. In this way the GGL, China Internet Gaming (CIG) and OOOC organized the
2008 Digital Games Global Video Gaming Tournament, which will be held in Shanghai as an Official 2008 Olympic Games Welcome Event. Yes, cybersport is officially sport in China.
For the event, the
GGL asked gamers which games should be represented as disciplines for the Digital Games Tournament.
ClanBase released the intermediate results of voting (see the picture for more details).
Most of the votes were for popular first person shooter
Call of Duty 4, even beating
Counter Strike 1.6 and
Starcraft to the top spot.
Command & Conquer 3 took the seventh position over other strong competitors from different genres.
