What are these?
Some of us have had, at some point, a version of Tiberium Wars know as the "Kane Edition". The only real difference between the
Kane Edition and the standard game (for example, the Origin version) is that the
Kane Edition includes some extra "official maps".
One reason we have not played those maps so much on-line is that the maps do not transfer from the game host, so all the players in the game have to be using the
Kane Edition to play them.
We think that is a real shame, as we are missing out on some quality, fun maps, most of which come as standard in
Kane's Wrath and are taken for granted there. The maps were available for download as custom maps, but we found a few problems with those we downloaded. To the rescue has come map guru,
cnc315d34d (aka
CGF), who has fixed the maps up nicely so that all of us can play them on-line as custom maps.
We are planning to hold some fun events using these maps, so let's introduce them.
Tournament Desert Redux
This 1 vs 1 tournament map is based on a classic Generals map. The map comes as standard in Kane's Wrath.
Tiber River Valley
This a large 1 vs 1 tournament map with plenty of resources. The map comes as standard in Kane's Wrath.
Ground Zero
This another big 1 vs 1 map with plenty of bridges and some opportunity to delay engaging directly with the enemy.
Frontier Fracas
A decent but big 2 vs 2 map with plenty of bridges to conquer. The map comes as standard in Kane's Wrath.
Tiberium Gardens III
A popular five player map in Kane's Wrath.
