Now let's take a quick look at some of the various upgrades and researches available to the Sisters of Battle. This is not a complete list, just the most useful or most common of them.

Laud Hailers - 75 50

Laud Hailers are large speakers that play divine music, inspiring the faithful and damaging the morale of the enemy. Once researched, they are available for use on most Sisterhood buildings and all Rhino Transports. When activated, the Laud Hailer grants all friendly units within 20 range of the unit using it a +100 morale boost, and inflicts a -10 morale regeneration on all enemy units within the same distance. The effect lasts for 15 seconds before needing to recharge.

Blessed Ammunition - 100 75

Blessed ammunition grants the Sisters a 50% damage bonus for all bolt weapons (bolt pistols, bolters, heavy bolters, even the storm bolters mounted on the Rhinos) when firing at enemy troops in cover. This is enough to effectively negate enemy cover bonuses, and hugely useful on maps which are covered in craters or forests, most of which count as cover.

Blessed Armor - 100 50

Blessed armor increases the maximum health of most of your infantry units by 25%, making it extremely useful on a large scale. It also doubles the hit points of your Missionaries.

Inferno Pistols - 50 20

This research equips the Canoness, Confessor, and all Veteran Sister Superiors with Inferno Pistols, massively damaging ranged weapons that are capable of inflicting destruction on everything from heavy infantry to light vehicles. Definitely worth the price of the upgrade.

Power Weapons - 50 20

Just as the Inferno Pistols upgrades the ranged weapons of your commanders and squad leaders, this one upgrades their melee ability, giving Power Swords to all Veteran Sister Superiors, and a Brazier of Holy Fire to the Canoness. Given the shooty nature of most Sister squads, this one is slightly less useful than the Inferno Pistols upgrade, but still worth the minor price.

Heavy Weapons Increase - 75 75

This one is fairly straightforward, allowing you to equip 5 heavy weapons in your Battle Sisters squads rather than the standard 3.

Psyocculum - 150 50

Not available until Tier 3, this is possibly the best upgrade you can get for your ranged infantry squads. It provides the following bonuses:

• Increases the range of the Missionary's Bolt Pistol by 20%.
• Doubles the damage of the Missionary's Bolt Pistol.
• Increases the range of the Battle Sister's Bolters by 20%.
• Increases damage of Battle Sister's Bolters and Flamers by 35%.
• Increases the damage of Battle Sister's Heavy Bolters by 20%.
• Increases the damage of Seraphims' Dual Bolt Pistols by 50%.

Zealot Charge - 75 50

This is the upgrade that gives the Sisters Repentia their massively fast charge ability, as described in their unit entry.

Phosphor Grenades - 75 25

This research equips all of your Battle Sisters squads with the previously described Phosphor grenades, and is very useful.

Improved Field Logistics - 140 0

As was mentioned in the Battle Sisters squad unit entry, your basic squads have a quick build time but a poor reinforce time. This upgrade increases your maximum squad cap by 3, as well as reducing your reinforce times by 12%.

Improved Mechanized Production Efficiency - 165 0

This is the vehicle equivalent to Improved Field Logistics, increasing your vehicle cap by 5 and reducing your vehicle build times by 10%.

Conflagration - 100 75

This research gives all of your flamer-equipped Immolators the Conflagration ability, which makes the tank spew flames out in a full circle around itself, causing a straight 65 damage per hit to everything within range for 9 seconds. It's both very effective at dealing with horde armies, and very entertaining to watch. Highly recommended if you plan on using plenty of Immolators.

Improved Reactor Core - 75 50

This isn't just a vehicle upgrade, it increases the minimum and maximum damage of all Sisterhood melta weapons by 20%. This includes melta weapons in Celestian squads and the ones mounted as upgrades on Immolators.

Reinforced Hull Plating - 150 100

Simple and to the point, this gives a 25% hit point bonus to all Battle Sister vehicles, including their Lightning Fighters. Absurdly useful if you plan on using more than a couple of vehicles.
